Configuration File
The operational settings of the dc power system are stored in a configuration file loaded into the
EFX48 system controller.
The EFX48 is supplied pre-loaded with a configuration file. If this configuration file has been
customized for the site then no further configuration changes will be necessary.
Otherwise, it is important that the settings of this configuration file are checked and changed as
required for site-specific conditions. In particular, settings that may affect the performance and
life expectancy of the battery must be checked and set according to the battery manufacturer’s
recommendations.
Some settings in the configuration file can be edited using the EFX48’s navigation switch (see
details on page 76), or all settings can be edited using a Laptop/PC (see details on page 79) or
remotely.
Backup and Restore
The configuration file settings in the EFX48 can be saved to (Backup) or loaded from (Restore) a
PC.
Backup and Restore can be used to:

Load a standard (master) configuration file into an EFX48 for customization.
•
Copy a customized configuration file from one EFX48 to others (at similar sites).
•
Save a copy of a customized configuration file. This is recommended in case the EFX48 has
to be replaced.

To use ICE-X for Backup

Connect to the EFX48 via ICE-X Configurator tool.

Launch ICE-X.

Enter the IP address of the EFX48 to be connected to.

Click the button “upload from EFX48 to configurator”.

The retrieved data can then be saved as an xml backup by selecting the button “save
configurator to .xml file”

To use a web browser for Restore

Connect to the EFX48 via ICE-X Configurator tool.

Launch ICE-X.

Enter the IP address of the EFX48 to be connected to.

Locate and open a configuration file to be uploaded to the EFX48 by selection the button
“load from.xml file to configurator”

Click the button “download configurator to EFX48”.
