After start-up of the EFX48 e-Fuse unit:
•
Press the navigation switch to silence any alarms – see instructions on page 48.
Depending on the configuration file settings, the alarm LED may be red and the display
may show some system alarm messages. This is normal. For an explanation of alarm
messages see Alarm Descriptions in the EFX48 e-Fuse section on page 112.
•
The display shows the summary screen. See details on page 48.
If no dc-powered equipment is connected and no strings are connected the current will be
00.0A. The voltage will be the system bus voltage which is normally set to 54.50V
•
Check all rectifiers are running and only the rectifier green Power On LEDs are on (no
alarm LEDs).
•
Use the EFX48 e-Fuse navigation switch to check that all rectifiers are registered. See
details on page 107.
If any problems see Troubleshooting on page 120.
Task 4 - Configuring the dc power system (some models only)

The operational settings of the dc power system are adjustable and are stored in a
configuration file loaded into the EFX48 e-Fuse unit. Refer to Configuration File in the
EFX48 e-Fuse section (see Related Information on page 76).
The EFX48 e-Fuse is supplied pre-loaded with a configuration file.
•
If this configuration file has been customized for the site then no further configuration
changes will be necessary.
•
If the configuration file is not fully customized for the site then check the following
settings and change if necessary. It is important that these settings are correct before
progressing further.

Set to the value recommended by the equipment and
battery manufacturers.
IP Address
Set according to any details provided by the network
administrator
Load Rating (Amp)
Set the Load Current Rating of each output to be used. See
the specification section (page 138) for the range of this
parameter.
String Rating (Amp)
Set the String Current Rating of each battery connection to
be used. See the specification section (page 138) for the
range of this parameter.

Other configuration settings can be changed after all Start-Up tasks are complete. For details on
how to customize the system's configuration see System Operation in the EFX48 e-Fuse section
(see Related Information on page 76).
