5-2 7X EXPANSION CHASSIS NETWORK
TERMINATION
For Panelboards with a 5X-Controller
Chassis and a 7X-Expansion Chassis
installed, the Network is terminated at the
factory.
If a 7X-Expansion Chassis is installed
remotely to the panelboard or an Expansion
Cabinet is used, please use following
procedures to terminate the Network.
The personnel installing the remote 7X-
Expansion Chassis are responsible for
providing and terminating power supply and
network wires for the 7X-Expansion
Chassis. Connectors for the power supply
and the network are provided by the
factory.
In the 5X-Controller Chassis, the Network is
terminated directly to the RIB board (see
Fig. 5-7). The connectors for the network
are provided at the factory. Remove the
plug from the socket on the RIB board.
Terminate the network cable in the plug and
push it back into the socket. Use the knock-
outs on the right side of the 5X-Controller
Chassis for entry to the low-voltage
termination area.

Knockouts
In the 7X-Expansin Chassis, find the
connector marked
“LOC NET IN”
. The
connector is located on the top, right side
of the back-plane board. Remove the plug
from the socket on the back-plane board.
Terminate the wires in the plug and push it
back firmly into the socket. Terminate black
wire in the “+” terminal. Terminate white
wire in the “–“ terminal. Terminate the shield
in the “
SH
” terminal.
