APPLICATION EXAMPLE 1: SOC SWITCH
INPUTS
The following are examples of low-voltage
switch terminations to the Control Cabinet
and Panelboard Expansion Chassis.
There are three different switches and
three different methods of termination to the
controller terminals. The SPST Switch is a
typical wall switch where moving the
switch UP will cause a closure. This switch
is wired across a Switch Common and any
of the 48 Switch Input terminals.
The SPDT Center Off example shows two
wiring schemes. Either will offer the same
functionality they are presented for
purposes of personal preference. The
Over-Under example keeps the switches in
the same relative position across the
terminal strip. The upper (1-24) positions
represent the UP or ON action while the
lower represent the DOWN or OFF action.
Similarly the poles can be wired adjacent to
each other. In this case the lower number
represents the DOWN (lower position) or
OFF action while the higher number
represents the UP or TOP action.

Each switch has accompanying control
definition parameters. While these param-
eters will provide function, they should not
be considered absolute. The assumption in
these examples is that each switch gang
acts to turn a point on and off. The two
position push-button switch demonstrates
how two controls can be used to accom-
plish the same function as one Momentary
(3-wire) control and could be easily
programmed as such.
