Pow-R-Command 100 Panelboard
The Pow-R-Command 100 Panelboard offers
all of the options and capabilities of a
standard Eaton’s Cutler-Hammer Pow-R-Line
3a panelboard with the additional control
features of the Pow-R-Command 100 system.
Additionally, the Pow-R-Command 100
Panelboard offers the ability to install a Pow-
R-Command 100 expansion chassis, which is
used to integrally mount a Switch Override
Card.

Standard Panelboard Components
Two assemblies are added to a standard
panelboard too make it a Pow-R-Command
100 panelboard. The first is a 5X control
chassis, which contains the appropriate
power transformer, line protection, Rail
Interface Board (RIB), and USC. The second
is a control bus known as Breaker Termina-
tion Board.
Control Power
: The electronics in a Pow-R-
Command 100 system, as well as Smart
Breaker, are powered from a 28V ac source
from a supplied Control Power Transformer
(CPT). The Control Power Transformer
used is a dual tap transformer capable of
operating at either 120 V ac or 277V ac.
Power to the trans former is drawn directly
from the bus. Additionally, line protection is
supplied to both the primary and secondary
side of the transformer. Furthermore, a line
filter is installed upstream of the CPT to
provide greater protection to the USC’s
circuitry.
Universal Systems Controller
The Universal Systems Controller is a control
device used to control the switching
devices in the panelboard. The USC is
mounted to the Rail Interface Board in the
5X control chassis.
Rail Interface Board
The Rail Interface Board is a bridge between
the USC and the Breaker Termination
Boards. In addition, the Rail Interface
Board contains terminal blocks used to
locally terminate the Pow-R-Command 100
network.
Breaker Termination Boards
The Breaker Termination Boards are a
control bus that runs underneath the load
side terminals of the branch circuit breakers,
one on the left and right side of the panel.
The Breaker Termination Boards are used to
transfer command and status signals
between each Smart Breaker and the USC.
Optional Panelboard Components
Two optional components can be added to a
Pow-R-Command 100 Panelboard to
increase its capabilities. These components
are the Pow-R-Command 100 Expansion
Chassis and the Switch Override Controller.
Expansion Chassis
The Pow-R-Command 100 Expansion
Chassis is a 7X structure that provides
mounting space and terminal connection for
the Pow-R-Command 100 Switch Override
Controller. Located in the Pow-R-Command
100 Expansion Chassis is a printed circuit
board with terminations for 48 two-wire.
These terminations are used in conjunction
with the Pow-R-Command 100 Switch
Override Controller. The Pow-R-Command
100 Expansion Chassis is only available in
the Pow-R-Command 100 Panelboard.
Switch Override Controller
The Switch Override Controller is a Pow-R-
Command 100 controller. Its basic function
is to provide processing of addition inputs
into the Pow-R-Command 100 system. A
Switch Override Controller is commonly
used when more then 12 inputs need to be
wired to a panel. For more information on

Available Branch Circuit Breakers:
Because the Pow-R-Command 100 Panel-
board uses standard Pow-R-Line 3a designs,
the same types of branch devices can be
used. For 480V ac and applications and
below GHB, GHBS, & GHQRS type branch
devices can be used and intermingled in the
layout of the panel. GHBS & GHQRS are 1-
inch bolt-on Smart Breakers. For 240V ac
applications and below BAB, BABR, &
BABRS type branch devices can be used and
intermingled in the layout of the panel. BABR
& BABRS are 1-inch bolt-on Smart Breakers.
