RLY-800 Radio Frequency Relay (Brazil)

Securing the RLY-800 to the Universal Bracket

As described in

“RLY-800 Features and Functions”

on page 4

, the RLY-800 can be mounted horizontally

or vertically based on the installation location and if
the RLY-800 uses an internal or external antenna.
The mounting bracket must be oriented correctly
when it is installed on the RLY-800 to allow the
device to be properly mounted and secured.

Figure 7. Mounting Bracket

The standard RLY-800 and mounting bracket
configuration is shown in

Figure 8

. This mounting

bracket alignment allows the RLY-800 to be
mounted vertically on a pole or horizontally on a light
pole arm.

Relays using an external antenna that is mounted
separately and connected to the RLY-800 with a
coaxial cable, will use the standard mounting bracket
configuration that is shown in

Figure 8

. An example

of this type of antenna is the OD9-5 Omni Antenna.

The alternate RLY-800 and mounting bracket
configuration is shown in

Figure 9

. This mounting

bracket alignment is used when the RLY-800 is
equipped with an external antenna that is mounted
directly on the box, such as the Laird Technologies
mobile antenna or another similar antenna.

Horizontal Pole Mount with External Antenna

Perform the following steps to install the mounting
bracket on the RLY-800:

1. Orient the RLY-800 on the mounting bracket in

the position that is required for your installation.
Align the holes in the three RLY-800 mounting
tabs with three holes in the mounting bracket.

2. Secure the RLY-800 to the mounting bracket with

the three bolts and nuts provided with the relay.

3. Perform one of the following RLY-800

installation procedures:

“Installing the RLY-800 on a Pole or Wall”

“Installing the RLY-800 on a Light Pole Arm”
