3.10.
FORCED DITCHING UNDER POWER
•
Position in hover over water.
•
Unlock doors.
•
Evacuate passenger.
•
Move away from passenger downwind if the wind is strong (the passenger
will move towards the crash which may enable him to provide assistance
to the pilot)
•
Throttle to idle, left foot down, slow the descent.
•
Lay the helicopter on its left side on contact with the water in order to stop
the rear rotor.
3.11.
FAILURE OF REAR ROTOR OR TRANSMISSION DURING
TRANSITION
Sudden yaw to the left which can not be corrected with the right pedal if speed below 100
km/h - 54 kts. (If speed above 100 km/h - 54 kts, the steering effect of the asymmetric
vertical stabiliser will ensure maintenance in the axis of the fuselage)
•
Initiate auto-rotation immediately, then adjust power
•
Maintain 110 km/h - 60 kts so that the steering effect of the tail remains
effective.
•
Reduce throttle and slightly increase the collective. Hold the cyclic to the
right in order to limit the drift.
•
On final, throttle to idle and sliding landing under auto-rotation.
3.12.
FAILURE OF REAR TRANSMISSION OR ROTOR DURING
HOVERING FLIGHT
•
Sudden yaw to the left that can not be corrected with the right pedal
•
Throttle to idle and land under auto-rotation.
3.13.
ENGINE FIRE DURING STARTUP
•
If the engine starts, it may aspirate the flames and the excess fuel.
•
If the engine does not start or if the fire does not immediately extinguish
itself, cut the engine and evacuate.
•
Extinguish the fire with an extinguisher, a woolen covering or with earth or
sand..
3.14.
ENGINE FIRE IN FLIGHT
•
Descend rapidly in auto-rotation.
•
If the engine is running, use the throttle and land normally.
