Using Figure A-1 , place the element clamps over the appropriate tubing.
When tightening the element clamps, install them approximately 1/4" to 1/2" below the end of
the slit tube with the worm tightening drive as shown in
Figure A-6, located between two of
the four slits.

NOTE: At three locations, there are two element clamps installed. One clamp is on the element
with the slit, the second clamp is located right next to the larger element. See Figure A-7 .

To avoid damage to the element clamps, do not over-tighten them.
The slits on the top 1/2” OD section are not needed (unless you are adding a section to lower the
frequency i.e. MARS band), so the slit end is inserted into the 5/*” OD section.
Place the black vinyl cap on top of the 1/2” OD section.
When the antenna elements are completely assembled and mated to the base section, the
overall length measured from the top of the antenna to the feedpoint on the base section
should be 67 Feet, 1-3/4” in length prior to tuning.
