Internal switches select the correct mode (see Appendix B). At the rear of the XY
panel the 25 way 'D' type connectors carry the interfaces for the relevant
Routemaster matrices. The 9-way 'D' type connector interfaces to a joystick
over-ride.
When the joystick over-ride facility is installed, operation of the joystick will
temporarily disable the source buttons and switch to the pre-selected source and
destination. A red LED on the appropriate destination button will be illuminated
whilst the over-ride is active. Control returns to the previous state once the
joystick over-ride is released.
Maintenance
The only routine maintenance required is replacement of the internal battery (type
AA Lithium 3.7V DC, rated 1.8 AH, standby current is less than 0.1 mA).
Troubleshooting
No status LED is ON.

Check the Routemaster matrix is powered.

Check all the interconnecting cables are correctly and firmly
seated.
No Routemaster control despite operational XY control panel.

Check all interconnecting cables are correctly and firmly
seated.
b.
Check the Routemaster matrix boards are firmly seated.
c.
Check the power LED's on the Routemaster are ON.
No cross-point data retention.
a.
Check the battery in-circuit switch SW5 is in ON position.
b.
Check the battery voltage. If the voltage is lower then 3.0V DC,
replace with type AA Lithium 3.7V.
