4. Tighten the relevant screw connec-
tion. If the hose is leaky, it must be
replaced.
5. Repeat the leak test.
6. If there is still a leaky spot, turn off the
gas supply and contact the customer
service department. Do not use the
device!
7. Once you have completed the leak
test, wash off the soap/water solution
with water to prevent corrosion. Dry off
all wet parts with a cloth.
Grilling
WARNING!
■
Never stand in front of the grill
chamber when igniting the gas!
A
jet of
fl
ame may be produced and this
can cause burns.
■
If during use you notice a smell of gas
or a leak in the components carrying
gas, the supply of gas must be turned
off immediately. The grill may only be
put back into operation once the cause
has been
fi
xed.
■
Do not place any cooking vessels in
the device.
■
Check the fat collecting tray for any
fat deposits prior to use and clean it if
necessary to prevent any jets of
fl
ame
or a fat
fi
re.
■
Make sure that the pieces of food do
not touch the burner.
■
Do not place food that is wrapped in
cling
fi
lm or in plastic bags in the grill.
The ceramic burner of this top heat gas
grill may produce a temperature of ap-
prox. 800°C. This extreme heat causes
the
fi
bres on the surface of the meat
to contract immediately, thus forming
a crispy crust in next-to-no-time. By
contrast, the inside of the piece of meat
remains almost pristine and juicy. The
top heat means that the meat juice which
drips down does not burn and can be
used as stock for sauces.
Although the top heat gas grill was devel-
oped for preparing steaks, it is also ex-
tremely suitable for grilling tuna, salmon,
seafood and vegetables or for caramelis-
ing desserts such as crème brûlée or
candied fruit. Just give it a try! There are
no limits to your imagination.
Before you prepare the meat, it
should be at room temperature in
order to ensure good and even
cooking.
The cooking time depends on the
thickness, quality, maturity and
temperature of the meat at the
start of the grilling process.
How the Device Is Used
1. Set up the grill in the manner de-
scribed in the previous chapters and
connect the gas cylinder. Follow the
safety instructions when you do this.
2. Pull the grill drawer (
16
) on its han-
dle (
13
) out of the grill chamber (
12
).
3. Slide the grease tray (
5
) into the
rails (
15
) and hang it on the hook (
19
)
in grill drawer (picture
A
).
4. First insert the grill rack (
4
) in the front
side of the grill drawer and then place
it in the back of it.
5. Slide the grill drawer back into the grill
chamber.
6. Move the grill drawer to the lowest lev-
el of the height adjustment (
11
). To do
this, press the adjustment lever (
10
)
to the right and push it into the lowest
slot of the height adjustment.
7. Open the valve of the gas cylinder.
IMPORTANT! No gas must be
fl
ow-
ing out at this point.
If this is the
case or you can smell gas, do not start
operating the grill! Tighten the screw
connections and perform a leak test
(see the “Connecting the Gas Cylin-
der” chapter – “Leak Test”).
8. Stand
at the side
of the grill and never
in front of the grill chamber!
