9. Ignite the gas: Press down the control
knob (
7
) and turn it to the
ON
posi-
tion. Once the gas has ignited, hold
down the control knob for a few more
seconds so that the
fl
ame does not go
out again.
WARNING: If the burner does
not ignite within
fi
ve seconds,
turn it to the OFF position. Wait
two minutes so that the gas can
escape before the ignition is
activated again.
10. Allow the grill to preheat for approx. 5
minutes.
11. Pull out the grill drawer and place the
meat in the middle of the grill rack.
12. Close the grill drawer and use the
adjustment lever to set the highest
possible level so that the surface of
the meat is exposed to the maximum
temperature. Make sure that the food
being grilled does not touch the burner.
13. If necessary, the burning level can be
reduced without the
fl
ame going out
by turning the control knob further past
the
ON
position.
14. Turn the meat as soon as it is as
brown as you want it to be. In the top
section of the grill chamber, this takes
approx. 120 to 210 seconds.
Important! It is essential that you
use barbecue tongs and protective
gloves if necessary to remove the
meat.
15. After another 120 to 210 seconds,
leave the meat to rest until it has been
cooked to the level you want. There
are different ways to leave the meat to
rest depending on the size and texture
of the meat:
–
you can turn the control knob to
the
OFF
position
–
and / or pull out the grill drawer or set
it to the lowest level (the thinner the
meat, the lower)
–
or place the meat on a plate and
place this down on the grill.
The most reliable way to determine
the degree of cooking is to use a core
temperature measuring device (not
supplied with the device).
To freshen up the crust, grill the
meat for another 10 to 15 seconds
on each side after the resting
phase.
16. After use, turn the control knob to the
OFF
position and close the valve of
the gas cylinder.
17. Allow the grill and accessories to cool
down until they are lukewarm. Then
clean them (see the "Cleaning and
Maintenance" chapter).
IMPORTANT!
The device may only be
reignited once it has cooled down. When
it is cold, the
fl
ashback valve prevents
gas from escaping if the valve of the gas
cylinder is open.
Cleaning and Maintenance
PLEASE NOTE!
■
Do not carry out any cleaning on
the valve of the pressure reducer! It
contains very sensitive components
which could be damaged on just slight
contact with other objects.
■
Disconnect the gas cylinder before
cleaning the grill.
■
Do not use any corrosive or abrasive
cleaning agents or scouring sponges
to clean the device. The surfaces
could be damaged.
Rinse the grill rack (
4
) and the fat collect-
ing tray (
5
) after each use. The grill should
also be freed of any crumbs, fat deposits
or other contamination after use.
•
Do not immerse the grill in water or
other liquids! Do not place it in the
dishwasher!
Remove any dirt with a
damp cloth and a little detergent. The
