4. INTRODUCTION
4.1 SCOPE
This device generates an alternating current of high frequency. The current passes through a
focusing tip and creates an alternating magnetic field which, by using the principle of
electromagnetic induction vibrates electrons inside the heated material. The energy of moving
electrons is dissipated as heat, which heats the metal within the work field of the instrument. The
more easily magnetizable material, the more heat it creates. That is why the device heats
conductive metals and their alloys easily but has no effect on glass, plastics, wood, textiles and
other non-conductive materials.
