1 Safety information

Before using this product, carefully read these Instructions
for Use and those of the associated products.

Strictly follow the Instructions for Use. The user must fully
understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the Intended use
section of this document.

Do not dispose of the Instructions for Use. Ensure that they
are retained and appropriately used by the product user.

Only trained and competent users are permitted to use this
product.

Comply with all local and national rules and regulations
associated with this product.

Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to
inspect, repair and service the product. Dräger
recommends a Dräger service contract for all maintenance
activities and that all repairs are carried out by Dräger.

Only authentic Dräger spare parts and accessories may be
used for maintenance. Otherwise the proper functioning of
the product may be impaired.

Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify
the product.

Notify Dräger in the event of any product or component
fault or failure.

The test device is not approved for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres.

3.2 Functional description
The test device has the following main functions:

Generating negative and positive pressure

Flow measurement

Leak test
The test device can also be operated in connection with a PC.
This requires the "Dräger Protector Software" test software
and a USB cable (see chapter 11 on page 15). The software
can also be downloaded from the Dräger website
(www.draeger.com/software). This software indicates all test
steps and logs the test results. The test results are saved and
can be printed. Test date monitoring ensures that the
inspection intervals are observed.
3.3 Intended use
The test device can be used to test the tightness and correct
functioning of Dräger closed-circuit breathing apparatus and
Dräger full face masks for closed-circuit breathing apparatus.
An additional test head is required to test full face masks.
