operation, which can be entirely done by hand without the use of tools, involves
the manipulation of the main functional components of the demand valve and
needs to be performed with extreme care and attention by qualified personnel
authorized by D.P.I. s.r.l.. Contact D.P.I. s.r.l. for the necessary instructions.
13.3.3 Other parts of the SCBA
The frequency of the cleaning and disinfection of the other parts of the SCBA must
be determined in accordance with the nature of the toxic to which have been
exposed and with the degree of contamination. For this cleaning use warm water
with mild soap, rinse thoroughly, rinse in water and air dry. Contact D.P.I. s.r.l. for
any clarification.
14 Maintenance
The controls explained so far, before and after the operation must be carried out
systematically. If you experience any values or conditions other than those listed,
you must subject the SCBA to maintenance. In addition to the above, it is
advisable to proceed with a check of the functionality of the device at least once
every six months. Maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel
authorized by D.P.I. s.r.l. or by the technical support center at the D.P.I. s.r.l.. The
maintenance tools (available on request) allow the disassembling of the SCBA in
its elementary functional groups so that they can, if necessary, be replaced or
reconditioned. It also permits the complete disassembly of the demand valve for
the replacement of the positive pressure spring with a new original one and
calibrated, if the value of the static pressure deviates from the prescribed one.
Below is a table summarizing the actions to be carried out before and after use
and intervals recommended.
