sealed so if you find any abnormality send the apparatus for maintenance or
contact the manufacturer.
In the case of DIABLO PI models, the warning device check requires to pressurize
the unit by opening the cylinder valve, close it and slowly lower the pressure
indicated by the pressure gauge acting on the demand valve and observing at
which pressure value starts the whistle (see table paragraph 4).
Important Note: remember, however, that if this signal is activated during the
mission, the contaminated area must be abandoned quickly because the
remaining breathable air is reduced to a few minutes.
9 Donning the device
9.1 Models DIABLO INDUSTRIAL, DIABLO ADVANCED, DIABLO
PROFESSIONAL, DIABLO PIZ
Bearing in mind that the equipment is worn properly if your weight rests mainly
on the lower back, while shoulder straps serve a stabilizing function. The weight
should not rest entirely on the shoulders.
Important Note:
donning and doffing the DIABLO INDUSTRIAL “Ex”, DIABLO
ADVANCED “Ex” and DIABLO PIZ “Ex” must be made in the proven absence of
explosive atmosphere.
• Place the device on the shoulders through the shoulder straps, loosen in
advance, proceeding as described below:
o
to shorten the straps put the thumbs into the rings at the ends and pull
them down.
o
To lengthen lift with thumbs release buckles: this will lead to a loosening of
the shoulder straps that, if it appears excessive, may be recovered as
described in the preceding point.
• Engage the snap buckle on the belt, without tightening so that the weight can
be downloaded all on the hips, as shown in figure 13.
• Engage the small snap buckle on the chest and pull the pectoral free section to
adjust the length, as shown in figures 14 and 15.
• Improve tension adjustment of the shoulder straps trying to bring the
apparatus to the correct height on the shoulders, as shown in figure 16.
• Finally, adjust the tension of the belt by pulling the free ends, as shown in
figure 17.
• If necessary, further tighten the tie rod on the chest.
• Once a definitive adjustment has been found, enter the free portions of the
belt through the loops and the free ends of the shoulder straps in between the
seam and lumbar support.
9.2 Models DIABLO PI
• Place the strap in order to put the unit on the side more comfortable for the
operator taking into account the path that must make the demand valve medium-
pressure hose and placing the gauge so that the dial is always in sight.
