3.3 Creating categories and products
Products divided into categories form the basic
building block of Dotypos and are displayed di-
rectly on the main screen. First, it is a good idea
to create the categories and then put individual
products into them.
To create a new category open the side menu
and select Managing items . It will take you to
the products and categories overview.
Categories are displayed on the left side.
By moving the screen to the left, tiles with
products will be displayed.
To add a category, in the upper right corner
tap on the icon , select
Add new and then tap
on the CATEGORY . Enter the category name,
color, leave the option Display in main menu
active and save the category.
In the category preferences you can activate
the default VAT rate. The selected default VAT
rate is then used for sale of products from the
category in the immediate sale (see chapter
3.1.1 Immediate sale ). If you need to adjust the
category later, use your finger to move the
screen to the right, select the category and tap
on the pencil icon. You move it by long pressing
on the category.
A similar procedure can be used to create
a new product. So, tap again on + ADD NEW
and select Product . The new product card will
open. First, enter the product name, select the
category and leave the option Display in Selec-
tion active. Otherwise the product card would
not be displayed on the main screen.
