Inspection, Maintenance and Adjustment

13. Fill transmission with fluid through transmission fill tube

(Figure 82).

14. Add fluid until fluid level reaches low mark on dipstick

(Figure 82).

15. Start engine. Idle engine for two minutes. Have a person

remain in the cabin.

16. With engine idling, have second person check

transmission fluid level again. Add fluid until level reaches
high mark on dipstick.

17. Idle engine until transmission fluid temperature reaches

80°C (176°F). Check fluid level with engine idling. Level
must reach high mark on dipstick.

NOTE:

If oil level is above top high mark on dipstick,
drain oil until level is at high mark.

NOTE:

If transmission cannot reach an operating
temperature of 80°C (176°F), then the oil level
must be below the high mark. Periodically check
oil level during the workday to ensure that oil
level does not rise above high mark on dipstick.

18. Check filter for leaks while engine is running.

Clean Fuel Tank and Strainer

NOTE:

It is easier to clean the fuel tank when it is almost
empty.
