Displaying Signs
Digital Signage may be displayed using all or any of these methods:
Signage Media Player2 & SignStick2®
These are small, compact computers designed for Digital Signage display. Follow the
setup instructions to configure them with the signage code.
These devices have the advantage of caching VoD content so they use minimal
bandwidth; in fact, after they have played once they are “loaded” and you can
disconnect the network and they will continue to play (obviously, not live video or
other real-time information).
Samsung Smart TV
Discover Video has published a free App called "Signage" available on the Samsung
Smart TV App Store, that you may download directly in your Smart TV (later models
of Samsung Smart TV and some Blu-Ray players come with the App already installed).
Simply start the App and press the "A" button on the Samsung remote control. Enter
your DEVOS server, and enter the desired digital signage ID code (displayed on the
DEVOS Signage page). See http://discovervideo.com/samsung
Roku Box
Discover Video has published a free App called "Signage" available on the Roku Box.
This inexpensive box delivers high quality audio/video. Simply install the Discover
Video Signage Channel on your Roku box, press the "A" button to set the DEVOS
server URL, and enter the signage ID code (shown for each sign on the Signage page
in DEVOS). See
. NOTE: Web Templates including
Google Slides are not supported by Roku.
Note: both Roku and Samsung are consumer devices and will not exhibit the
durability or reliability most organizations demand, but for light or occasional
use they can be very useful.
Web Browser
Open the Digital Signage page by clicking on it. The signage will display in your web
browser. You may copy the URL to any computer and simply display the browser on
a monitor. Currently, the web page requires Flash player.
