FEEDROLL SPRING TENSION

Both upper feedrolls are ﬂoating over the crop under tension, and their vertical motions are limited by four springs
(item 1). The vertical displacement of these rolls is interdependent and controlled by stabilizing bars (item 2).

There are two springs on each outer sides of the feeding inlet; their purpose is to compress the crop passing through
the feedrolls. The spring preload is equivalent to approximately 12.5cm (0.5in). The basic adjustment consists in
tightening the springs down to 1.5mm (1/16in) between the bolt head (item 3) and the support plate (item 4). Adjust
with the lock nut (item 5).

For certain type of crops or conditions where the crop is very slippery, like stray harvesting or short wet hay, the
spring tension can be reduced.



Loosen the front springs (item 1) by loosening the eyebolt (item 2).



If clogging still occurs, loosen the rear springs (item 3) too. It might be necessary to completely remove the
springs too.
