NETWORK MANAGEMENT STATION NMS, LCS/LCM & LCC
The ChannelWorks Bridge is managed via industry standard SNMP. This standard provides full flexibility for any
customer to manage their network via an already existing network management platform (NMS) that supports this
industry standard “SNMP.” Specifically MIB II and the Bridge MIB.
There are various industry standard NMS platforms, ChannelWorks supports both UNIX and MS-DOS versions of
these systems, and can provide you with the appropriate distribution media type of its MIBs (LCC-Cable TV
Management Tools) that can be compiled for use and management of the Cable TV side. A standard SNMP platform
can manage the Ethernet portion of the ChannelWorks bridge by utilizing standard MIB II or Bridge MIB.
LCS/LCM is utilized by customers/installers to set-up the customized parameters for LCB such as IP address, etc.
