Connecting To A Single-Cable, Cable TV Network
Referring to Figure 4-3 and continuing from step 1 of the Start Up procedure, perform
the following procedure to attach the ChannelWorks Bridge to a single-cable, cable TV
network:
1. Attach the single-cable TV network’s drop cable to the common F connector of the
diplex filter.
2. Attach one end of the short coaxial cable to the return (transmit ) F connector
of the ChannelWorks Bridge.
3. Attach the other end of the short coaxial cable to the diplex filter’s LOW F connec-
tor. Low indicates low frequencies. The low frequencies are typically used as the
return frequencies on single-cable plants that allow bi directional communications.
4. Attach one end of the short coaxial cable to the forward (receive ) F connector
of the ChannelWorks Bridge.
5. Attach the other end of the short coaxial cable to the diplex filter’s HIGH F con-
nector. High indicates high frequencies. The high frequencies are typically used
as the forward frequencies on single-cable plants that allow bi directional commu-
nications.
Note: Tighten the coaxial cable connectors with a torque wrench to no more than 7 in/lbs.
Caution - Use only approved diplex filters. Inferior diplex filters can impair the net-
work and reduce performance.
Achtung - Verwenden Sie ausschließlich zugelassene Diplex-Filter. Minderwertige
Diplex-Filter können das Netzwerk beeinträchtigen und zu einer Herabsetzung der
Leistungsfähigkeit führen.
Attention - N'utilisez que des filtres diplex homologués. Des filtres diplex inférieurs
