Selecting An Installation Area
After unpacking the ChannelWorks Bridge, select an appropriate installation area that
allows room for the ChannelWorks Bridge, as well as for the cables and power cord.
Caution - The ChannelWorks Bridge has vents on its front panel and a slot along its
bottom front edge for air intake. It also has a fan on its back panel. When you place the
ChannelWorks Bridge, make sure that objects do not block the vents on the front panel
or slot along its bottom or the fan on the back.
Achtung - Die ChannelWorks-Brücke weist zum Lufteinlaß Öffnungen (auf der Front-
abdeckung) sowie einen Schlitz entlang der unteren Frontkante auf. Auf der Rückseite
kann sich ein Ventilator befinden. Vergewissern Sie sich bei der Aufstellung der
ChannelWorks-Brücke, daß die Öffnungen, der Schlitz und der Ventilator frei
zugänglich sind.
Attention - ChannelWorks Bridge est doté d'orifices sur le panneau avant et d'une
fente le long du bord inférieur avant qui permettent l'entrée de l'air. Le panneau arrière
est en outre muni d'un ventilateur. Lorsque vous placez ChannelWorks Bridge, vérifiez
qu'aucun objet n'entrave les orifices du panneau avant, la fente de la partie inférieure ou
le ventilateur à l'arrière.
Precaución - ChannelWorks Bridge tiene orificios de ventilación en el panel frontal y

Figure 2-4 illustrates the location of the bridge’s vents.
The acceptable environmental ranges are:
• Temperature between 10 and 40 degrees Celsius
• Humidity between 10 percent and 95 percent non condensing
• Dust (Keep the work area as dust-free as possible.)
The distance allowed between the ChannelWorks Bridge and its Ethernet user device(s)
is determined by IEEE 802.3 specifications.
