(deformation of the metallic parts, peeling of the paint or turning it grey) because it is result of inappropriate
use of the device ! The handles of the fireplace warm up, use additional “cold” handles, provided with the delivery.
3.2. Fuel
In fireplace C07722 as a fuel can be used only normal, untreated firewood. Don’t use impregnated wood,
chipboard, plastic or plastic-coated paper, liquid fuel, even when starting the fire ! Small amounts of chips or tiny sticks
of wood can be used for starting the fire. Do not store fuel near the fireplace (only for one loading is enough, it can be
stored under the fireplace). Take into consideration safety distances (cf. 2.3).
3.3. OBS-burning system
DEVILLE has developed the OBS-burning system, which improves burning efficiency and reduces pollution :
•
primary air (goes straight to the burning firewood) goes through adjustable the fire-grate (use lever 4) (fig. 4, 5,
6). Open : powerful burning – Closed : light burning.
•
when the firewood becomes hot, secondary air is needed for optimal burning. It can be regulated by means of
the upper air-flow regulators 3 (fig. 4, 5).
•
through the regulators 3 (fig. 4, 5) comes also additional air, which helps the burning of the fuel left after the
secondary burning.
•
in normal conditions the upper air-flow regulators are half closed. In bad draught conditions the regulators are
as closed as possible, in good draught conditions - as open as possible.
3.4. Starting the fire, amounts of fuel
In the beginning the smoke damper of the chimney must be totally open. Adjustable fire-grate (fig. 6) also must be
totally open, and the upper air-flow regulator totally closed. The ash-shutter must be closed all the time, primary air
doesn’t flow through it.
When starting the fire, put the sticks crosswise. Put the additional sticks always in horizontal position alongside the
back wall of the fireplace. Watch out that the firewood is always behind the protective rail. There is no reason to load
too much fire-wood at the same time. Usually 4 sticks is enough when starting the fire, after this add 1-2 sticks at a
time.
3.5. Adjusting the power of the fireplace
The power of the fireplace can be adjusted in three ways :
•
by regulating the draught of the chimney. The draught must be adjusted by means of the chimneys smoke
damper at such level, that the fire doesn’t reach into the flue and the draught can be adjusted additionally by
means of the secondary- and the upper air-flow regulators. Watch out for carbon monoxide !
•
by means of the fire-grate and the upper air-flow regulators.
•
by changing the amount of fuel or its quality. Usually there is no reason to burn more than 4 sticks of wood at
the same time. Very dry firewood must be burnt carefully - its momentary power is very high.
3.6. Glass shutters - Usage and replacement (fig. 9)
Clean up the glasses only when they are cold !
Handle them with care, do not slam the shutters.
Replacement of the broken glass :
•
remove carefully all glass pieces,
•
remove the shutter : open it, after this lift it up from the hinges,
•
unscrew the nuts 1 and remove the brackets, washers 2 and gaskets 3,
•
check-out, that the gasket 4 is well fited on the frame,
•
put the new glass on it’s place,
