DESCRIPTIONS

1)

OUT PUT

The SM15-200D, SM30-100D, SM45-70D,
SM70-45D, SM120-25D and SM300-10D
can ei ther be used as a con stant volt age
source with cur rent limiting or as a con stant
current source with voltage lim iting.
The change of mode oc curs sharply at the
crossing of the voltage and cur rent settings
(fig. 3 - 1 shows the output ranges).

°

DISPLAY CV/CC SETTING FUNCTION

The setting of the volt age and cur rent con -
trol can be ob served on the front panel me -
ters by press ing the Dis play CV/CC Set ting
button. This al lows the current limit to be
set when op erating in the CV mode with out
shorting the out put terminals, and the volt -
age limit to be set when op erating in the CC
mode with out open ing the load leads.

°

OVER LOAD PRO TEC TION

The power supply is fully pro tected against
all over load con di tions, in clud ing short cir-
cuit.

2)

IN PUT VOLT AGE

The power supplies have a wide in put volt-
age range.

°

The units need a 3 phase in put voltage,
but

no neu tral con nec tion

 is re quired.

°

The units can also op erate on one phase
but at 90% of the max. out put voltage,
with a slight in crease of the out put rip ple
volt age.

°

The units can also be used as a DC/DC
con verter.

°

non-standard line in put voltage
The units will still op erate at a line input
voltage lower than standard, but with a
reduction in out put power. Figure 3 - 3
shows the max. output cur rent as a func-
tion of output voltage with AC or DC line
in put volt age as a pa ram e ter.
Example: Say the re quired out put volt-
age is 24 V at a line in put voltage of 270 V
AC. Figure 3 - 2 shows the maximum
output cur rent for the SM30-100D to be
59 A.

°

Note:

All AC in put curves are mea sured

using 3 phase in put.
