Servicing and Upgrading an IP4700
If the IP4700 enclosure fault LED is on, you should look at the other
fault LEDs to determine which CRU(s) are faulty, and replace them as
soon as possible.
If a CRU fails, the IP4700’s high availability and write cache
capability is compromised until you replace the faulty CRU.
Link control card fault
1 per link control
card
Amber
On when either the LCC or a FC-AL connection is faulty.
LAN link (10/100)
1 per port
Green
On when there is a valid Ethernet connection.
LAN activity (10/100)

Amber
Blinks during Ethernet activity.
LAN link (gigabit)
1 per SP
Green
Solid when link is active and NIC is enabled.
Flashing slowly when NIC is disabled but firmware is loaded and
running.
LAN data (gigabit)

With solid Link LED, indicates data activity on the NIC.
By itself, indicates fault condition with firmware halted.
Power supply active

On when the power supply is operating.
Power supply fault

On when the power supply is faulty or is not receiving ac line
voltage.
Cooling fault

Flashing when multiple fans in the drive fan pack are faulty or
the drive fan pack is removed.
The IP4700 powers down the storage processors and disk
drives when the fault persists for more than about two minutes.
Drive fan pack fault
1 on fan pack
Yellow
On when a fan in the drive fan pack is faulty.
