Enable PERCCLI on a host server
Enable the PERCCLI disk utility on a VxFlex Ready Node host server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have:
l
Root access to the server on which PERCCLI is to be installed
l
Internet access to enable you to download the PERCCLI utility
Procedure
1. Download PERCCLI from http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER03559396M/1/
perccli-1.17.10-1.noarch.rpm .
2. Copy the installation file,
perccli-1.17.10-1.noarch.rpm
, to the
/tmp
folder on the node.
3. From the Linux console or via SSH, install the PERCCLI package:
rpm -Uvh /tmp/perccli-1.17.10-1.noarch.rpm
Results
PERCCLI is ready for use.
Enable PERCCLI on a Windows server
Enable the PERCCLI disk utility on a VxFlex Ready Node Windows server.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have:
l
The administrator password to the server on which PERCCLI is to be installed
l
Internet access to enable you to download the PERCCLI utility
Procedure
1. Download PERCCLI from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/
Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=3PHVH .
2. Extract the
ZIP
file.
3. Copy the executable files,
perccli.exe
and
perccli64.exe
, to:
c:\Windows\System32
Results
PERCCLI can now be used from either the console or via RDP.
Creating virtual devices with PERCCLI
The following tasks explain how to create virtual devices (VDs) on disks using the
PERCCLI utility. You need to perform these steps before adding disks to a VxFlex OS
SDS server in the VxFlex Ready Node system.
Note
If the server contains the HBA330 controller, skip this step.
