Installing an SXM2-GPU Heat Sink
Prerequisites

due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are
shipped with your product.
NOTE:
This is a Field Replaceable Unit (FRU). Removal and installation procedures should be performed only by Dell certified
service technicians.

Steps

If you are using an existing SXM2-GPU heat sink, remove the thermal grease from the heat sink by using a clean lint-free cloth.

Apply the thermal grease on the top of the SXM2 GPU.

Align the heat sink with the outline on the NVLink board around the SXM2 GPU and lower it on top of the SXM2 GPU.

Using the Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten one of the four screws to secure the heat sink to the NVLink board, then tighten the screw
diagonally opposite to the first screw and repeat the procedure for the remaining two screws.
