3.8 Setting up an Ethernet Network Connection
If you want to operate your flexx system within an Ethernet network, you need to install an
Ethernet adapter. Depending on your order you will find an Ethernet adapter, e.g. Digi Connect
ME
® (in the following only „DigiCon“) within the package. The following steps show, how to
install the DigiCon directly onto the proxSafe flexx backplane and how to set the jumpers:
3.8.1 Install Digi Connect ME ® Adapter onto backplane PCB

The DigiCon adapter is supplied on a small
piggyback board and can be mounted
directly onto the flexx backplane PCB.

Insert the three screws from the piggyback
board of the DigiCon into the according
holes of the flexx backplane PCB.

Remove the cables from the backplane PCB,
carefully press the small side clip on the
plastic studs in every corner with a screw
driver and then loosen the backplane PCB.
4.
Fix the piggyback board with the three enclosed
lock washers(spanner size 5.5 mm) and
counter nuts from the back of the flexx PCB.
