LOCAL PRINT FEATURE
The Local Print feature allows printing the contents of the currently active session
displayed on screen to an attached parallel printer without host intervention.
8.6.1 To Perform a Local Print
1. Select LOCAL for Print Key in Online Setup.
2. Verify that the attached parallel printer is turned on and is ready to receive a print job
from the workstation.
3. Press
to display the Print screen. The print screen will have a Status line at
the bottom displaying printer messages in the form of symbols and Print operation
keys.
4. Press
F13
(Only if the Status line displays
F13 = Screen

5. Press
Enter
to print screen contents.
8.6.2 Trim Area
The region to be printed, known as the
Trim Area
, can be selected on screen:
1. Press
to display the Print screen.
2. Press
F13
. (Only if the Status line displays
F13 = Trim
.) A rectangle with a cursor at
the top left corner will display. This represents the region to be printed.
3. Use the arrow keys to define the print region.
4. Press
F14
to move the cursor in the rectangle from the top left corner to the bottom
right corner.
5. Press arrow keys to increase or decrease print region as required.
6. Press
Enter
to print the screen region selected.
7. Press
to exit without printing.
NOTE:
If SYSTEM is selected for Print Key in Online Setup, you can still perform
LOCAL PRINT by pressing
Shift + Print
simultaneously.
