Changing the Default Startup Action (auto_action)
Description The auto_action environment variable determines the default
startup action–the action the console takes any time the system
is halted by software (not by pressing the halt button) or turned
on.

Settings for
auto_action Table 10–2 lists the three different startup actions you can
specify for the
auto_action
environment variable and the
command parameters to use for each. Note that the parameter
can be either a word, such as boot, or a corresponding number,
such as 2.
