configuration is a fast and repeatable method of configuring the switch. The switch
table download file format is explained in the following sections.
The screen in Figure 24 shows the results of a configuration file download. Note that
the screen displays the results of parsing the command lines (entries): Good Entries
= 3, Bad Entries = 0. This feature is useful for checking if the downloaded commands
are syntactically correct. The file that was downloaded contains 4 lines that start with
#, all the lines are syntactically correct and the 4
th
line is the #EF command, which is
NOT counted. Lines that do not start with # are comment lines and are not counted
either.
The results of the file download should be checked via the menu configuration
screens to verify that the configuration download produced the desired results. For
example, a typo in the file might set the speed for ports 0-7 to 2G as opposed to the
desired 1G, which will be visible when the “configuration, global settings” menu is
displayed.

4.2.5.9.1 Download Switch Configuration File Format
The Download Switch Configuration File format has 5 commands that the switch
management processor will parse. These commands allow a downloadable file to
configure most of the switch options that can be configured via the menu system. The
format of these commands is explained in the following sections.
