Datex-Ohmeda S/5 Compact Anesthesia and Critical Care Monitor
4 INTERFACING
External devices can be interfaced with the S/5 Compact Anesthesia Monitor and S/5 Compact
Critical Care Monitor via the Compact Monitor's serial port, via the S/5 Interface Module, M-INT
and via the Device Interfacing Solution, N-DISxxx.
The serial port can be used for interface with:
• S/5 Anesthesia Delivery Unit
•
Printers
• Computers
The Interface Module, M-INT can be used for interface with:
•
Datex-Ohmeda monitors
• Various other manufacturers’ monitors
•
Various anesthesia machines
Device specific N-DISxxx modules can be used with:
• Ventilators/ anesthesia machines
•
Monitors
• Heart-lung machines
•
Blood-gas analyzers
4.1 Interfacing external monitors via the Interface Module, M-INT
It is possible to interface Datex-Ohmeda monitors, Critikon Dinamap 1846SX, Abbott Oximetrix 3,
Baxter Explorer and Vigilance, Nellcor N-100, N-200 and N-1000 with the S/5 Compact
Anesthesia Monitor or S/5 Compact Critical Care Monitor via the Interface Module, M-INT. The
parameters transferred are summarized in tables 1 and 2.
The Interface Module, M-INT has two serial/analog connectors (X7 and X8).
WARNING
Always make sure that the combination complies with the international safety standard IEC
60601-1-1 for medical electrical systems and with the requirements of local authorities.
