Let's suppose we need to program the following encoder: 
“AMT58” 24-bit multiturn encoder. 
 

 Hardware counts per revolution 

= 12 bits/rev. (4096 cpr) 

 Hardware number of revolutions  = 12 bits (4096 rev.) 

 Hardware total resolution 

= 24 bits (4096

4096=16777216) 

 
We want to set: 4096 counts per revolution and 50 revolutions. 
50 is NOT a power of 2. 
Thus we will set 4096 next to the Counts per revolution item. 
The Total resolution value will be: 4096 (cpr)
