The System Command

DD400 Series Restorer User Guide

Display System Status

The system hardware status display includes information about the NVRAM card, internal
temperatures, the state of power supplies, and CPU speed.

•

NVRAM Card

-

The

memory size

,

window size

, and

number batteries

identify the type of NVRAM card.

-

The

errors

entry shows the operational state of the card. If the card has one or more PCI or

memory errors, an alerts email is sent and the daily AM-email includes an NVRAM entry.

-

Each

battery

entry should show

100% charged, enabled

. The exceptions are for a new

system or for a replacement NVRAM card. In both cases, the charge may initially be
below 100%. If the charge does not reach 100% in three days (or if a battery is not
enabled), the card should be replaced.

•

Temperature Measurements

-

If the overall temperature for a restorer reaches 47 degrees centigrade, a warning message
is generated. If the temperature reaches 50 degrees centigrade, the restorer shuts down.

-

If a CPU temperature reaches 60 degrees centigrade, a warning message is generated. If a
CPU temperature reaches 74 degrees centigrade, the restorer shuts down.

•

The message about power supplies informs you that all power supplies are either operating
normally or that one or more are not operating normally. The message does not identify which
power supply or supplies are not functioning. Look at the back panel of the restorer and check
the LED for each power supply to identify those that need replacement.

•

CPU Speed Check

appears only in the command line interface, not in the DDR Manager. The

check shows whether or not CPU temperature is affecting CPU speed. The check shows two
hyper-threaded virtual CPUs for each actual CPU.

To display the current hardware status, such as processor vital signs, internal temperatures, and
power supply output, use the

system status

operation.
