5.3.1  Gain Setup 

5.3.1.1  DL Gain Setup 

32. From the Function Explorer Tree on the left select 

tHost™

 unit. The 

tHost™

 main page will appear.  

Note: tHost™ maximum input level with 0dB DL attenuation setting is -7 dBm. Absolute maximum 

average power at DL input is 0 dBm, but DL attenuator shall be set to 1 to 7 dB (for levels from -6 

to 0 dBm) to prevent saturation (overflow) of digital section. Hence, to achieve maximum average 

power of 43 dBm, DL input signal range shall be between -7 dBm and 0 dBm of average power, 

with tHost™ attenuator setting from 0 to 7 dB. Unit is designed for PAR of < 12 dB. An analog 

protection circuit is enabled if DL input average power is higher than 0 dBm (by adding 30 dB of 

attenuation).  

33. Read “DL Input Power” (Pin) at a particular band, and calculate the DL Gain (G

34. Set DL Attenuator for particular band to calculated value. Click on “Set Parameters” button.  
35. Repeat steps 33 and 34 until DL attenuation for all bands are set.
