Section 39. Wireless WLAN Commands

wlan capwap ip address

The

wlan capwap ip address

Global Configuration mode command configures the IP address used for the

Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) protocol. To restore defaults, use the

form of

this command.

Syntax

wlan capwap ip address

{

ip-address

hostname

} [

secure

]

no wlan capwap ip address

Parameters
•

ip-address

— Specify an IP address sent to the APs for CAPWAP communication.

•

hostname

— Specify a DNS name delivered to the APs for CAPWAP communication.

•

secure

— Specify that the CAPWAP communication is only allowed from the CAPWAP IP address interface.

Default Configuration

No CAPWAP IP address is defined.

Command Mode

Global Configuration mode

User Guidelines
•

Reboot the device after modifying the CAPWAP IP address.

•

If an

ip-address

is specified, it must be one of the IP addresses configured to the device.

•

If hostname is specified in

secure

mode, the hostname is translated to an IP address when the command is

executed.

•

The command fails when

hostname

is specified in

secure

mode, and the

hostname

cannot be translated to

an IP address, or when

the translated

hostname

is not one of the device IP addresses.

•

hostname

is an unqualified host name. The software uses the default domain name to complete the

unqualified host name. The default domain name can be defined with the

ip domain-name

Global

Configuration command.

Example

The following example configures the IP address used for the CAPWAP protocol as 192.168.0.1.
