The

spanning-tree hello-time

Global Configuration mode command configures the spanning tree bridge hello

time, which is how often the device broadcasts hello messages to other devices.To restore the default
configuration, use the

form of this command.

Syntax

panning-tree hello-time seconds

no spanning-tree hello-time

Parameters
•

seconds

— Time in seconds. (Range: 1-10)

Default Configuration

The default hello time for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 2 seconds.

User Guidelines

When configuring the hello time, the following relationship should be kept:

Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1)

Example

The following example configures spanning tree bridge hello time to 5 seconds.
