NOTE:
Please note that the Virtual Drive is created on the “device level”, not the “partition level”, which
means that the computer looks for I/O at the BIOS level and sends the corresponding data to the
Host computer. This means that it sends the entire hard drive (which may consist of multiple
partitions) and emulates all of those partitions on the Host computer. A DVD drive can be emulated
in the same way. However, such a “virtual” DVD drive
cannot
act as a boot drive like floppy and
CD-ROM images can.
4.3 User Management
On a DKVM-IP1, each username has permission levels that are assigned to it. These permission
settings affect how the user interfaces with the Host Console. Permissions allow or forbid the user
from performing various actions on the DKVM-IP1’s web GUI pages. There are three permission
“ranks” that can be assigned to any user at any time by any user that has the relevant permission
“rank”. The highest permission rank is “super user”, then “administrator”, then “user” at the bottom
of the rank hierarchy.
4.3.1 Change Password
Click on
User Management > Change Password
to change the password for the currently
logged in user account. Enter the relevant old and new passwords, then click the
Apply
button to save your changes. (see the screenshot above)
