Each command is listed, in detail, in the following sections.

create fdb

Purpose

Used to create a static entry to the unicast
MAC address forwarding table (database)

Syntax

create fdb {<vlan_name32> <macaddr>

port <port>}

Description

This command will make an entry into the
switch’s unicast MAC address forwarding
database.

Parameters

<vlan_name>

−

The name of the VLAN on

which the MAC address resides.

−

The MAC address that will be

added to the forwarding table.

<port>

−

The port number corresponding to

the MAC destination address. The switch
will always forward traffic to the specified
device through this port.

Restrictions

Only administrator-level users can issue
this command.
