config snmp engineID
Purpose
Used to configure a name for the SNMP engine on the Switch.
Syntax
config snmp engineID <snmp_engineID 10-64>
Description
The
config snmp engineID
command configures a name for the
SNMP engine on the Switch.
Parameters
<snmp_engineID 10-64>
−
An alphanumeric string between 10 and
64 characters that will be used to identify the SNMP engine on the
Switch.
Restrictions Only
administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To give the SNMP agent on the Switch the name “0035636666”
DES-3026:4#config snmp engineID 0035636666
Command: config snmp engineID 0035636666
Success.

show snmp engineID
Purpose
Used to display the identification of the SNMP engine on the Switch.
Syntax
show snmp engineID
Description
The
show snmp engineID
command displays the identification of
the SNMP engine on the Switch.
Parameters None.
Restrictions None.
Example usage:
To display the current name of the SNMP engine on the Switch:
