Overview
Introduction
Sterile Tube Fuser - Wet is used to weld together thermoplastic tubing in a sterile
manner. Each piece of tubing is connected on one end to a container, bag or process
equipment. The other end is sealed by a clamp, plug, or other closure.

with fluids like media, buffers, etc. It is not possible to fuse non-thermoplastic materials
such as PTFE or silicone.

Note:
Prior to use, make a few trial welds and examine them. If the sample
welds are not acceptable, contact Cytiva Service.
Schematic operation
The table below describes a typical workflow for tube welding with Sterile Tube Fuser -
Wet. Each weld cycle takes about 3 minutes.

The cutting blade (A) is installed. It retracts into the instrument.

The tubing (B) is placed in the holders (C). (B) indicates the part of tubing
to be connected. (D) indicates the external tubing clamps that can be
used to avoid large amount of liquid spillage in case of poor weld or weld
failure.
