Safety Messages
DANGER
Turn off the main electrical disconnect switch prior to servicing any of the boxes.
Failure to do so might lead to serious injury or death.
Always use extreme caution when measuring voltage or performing procedures that require a
module to be powered on.
Electrostatic Discharge Prevention When Manipulating a Printed Circuit
Board (PCB)
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage equipment and impair electrical circuitry. ESD damage occurs
when electronic components are improperly handled and can result in complete or intermittent failures.
Always follow ESD on a PCB-prevention procedures when you remove and replace components. Ensure
that the chassis is electrically connected to earth ground. Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap, ensuring
that it makes good skin contact. Connect the grounding clip to an unpainted surface of the chassis frame
to safely ground unwanted ESD voltages. To guard against ESD damage and shocks, the wrist strap and
cord must operate properly. If no wrist strap is available, ground yourself by touching the metal part of the
chassis.
For safety, periodically check the resistance value of the antistatic strap, which should be between 1 and
10 megohm (Mohm).
WARNING
The radio module (M7DB6 )circuit board is electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive.
ESD precautions must be observed when handling and installing these components.
The radio module (M7DB6) installations must be protected from electrical transients on the
power supply and I/O lines. This is especially important in outdoor installations, and/or where
connections are made to sensors with long leads. Inadequate transient protection can result in
damage and/or create a fire and safety hazard.
Telecommunication Advice
NOTE:
In some countries the WIFI module is not available to purchase because of regulation restrictions.
The EDGE 2 Controllers contain a wireless radio module inside: M7DB6 from Redpine manufacturer.
M7DB6 module is FCC/IC/CE certified. This is valid in the case no other intentional or un-intentional radi-
ator components are incorporated into the product and there is no change in the module circuitry.
FCC ID and IC ID
The FCC ID of Redpine Wireless radio module (M7DB6) is XF6-M7DB6.
The IC ID Redpine Wireless radio module (M7DB6) is 8407A-M7DB6.
FCC Caution and Safety Notices
Any changes or modifications (including the antennas) made to this device that are not expressly
approved by the manufacturer may void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. This device and its
antenna(s) must not be collocated or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
