the DTMF Method. DTMF stands for
“Dual
Tone Multiple Frequency
”. It is used for
telecommunication signaling over analog
telephone lines in the voice-frequency
band between telephone handsets and
other communications devices and the
switching center. If you select
“RFC2833”,
the Residential Gateway will send the
DTMF tone as a RTP payload signal. And it
will have a higher tolerance for packet loss.
If you select
“SIPINFO”, the Residential
Gateway will send the DTMF tone via SIP
INFO message. Or if you select
“In-band”,
the Residential Gateway will send the
DTMF tone in voice packet.
