7 Maintenance
The Impedo Duo is designed to be a very low maintenance device that can operate
unattended for years at end. It contains no user-replaceable parts.
7.1 Battery
The internal LiFePO
4
battery powers the instrument in the absence of power. This
battery guarantees 2,000 charge/discharge cycles. If cycled once per day, it translates
to a 5-year life expectancy. The battery is charged when external power is applied to
the AC power supply, or the instrument is connected to an IEEE 802.3-2008
compliant POE source via either of its Ethernet ports.
7.2 Display
To clean the Impedo DUO screen, never use any type of cleaning solvent such as
Windex or similar chemical products. Use only water. Ideally, use water with a lint
free scratch resistant cloth (microfiber is best) to clean the Impedo DUO screen by
dampening the cloth slightly. Then clean the screen using soft, even strokes.
7.3 Transport
Should the instrument be couriered or shipped please follow these
instructions:
1. Insert the instrument into a plastic bag to prevent water damage
during shipment transit; and
2. Protect the instrument properly and also put it inside a padded box
to prevent mechanical damage during transit.

Use the CT Lab packaging in which the instrument was supplied.
7.4 Storage
To prevent damage to the Impedo DUO battery the instrument should always be
stored in the Powered Down state. When the instrument is powered down the
instrument can be stored for up to 5 years.
