BOATING SAFETY
Your safety, the safety of your passengers
and other boaters are among your
responsibilities as operator of this yacht.
Your yacht must be in compliance with
United States Coast Guard (USCG) safety
equipment regulations. You should know
how to react correctly to adverse weather
conditions, have good navigation skills, and
follow the “Rules of the Road” as defined by
the USCG and state/county/local
regulations.
WARNING
• Be sure to read and understand
this manual, the engine manual,
and the generator manual. It is
important that you understand
all controls and operating
instructions before attempting to
operate the yacht. Improper
operation can be extremely
hazardous.
• DO NOT operate the yacht under
the influence of alcohol or
drugs. Be in control of your
yacht. Failure to be in control of
the yacht at all times may result
in serious injury or death.
Safety Checks
Safe boating is one of the requirements for
pleasant boating! Use common sense and
safe practices while enjoying your yacht.
Before each outing, use the following safety
checks:
• Keep your yacht and equipment in good
condition; inspect the hull, engines, power
train and all gear frequently.
• Use care when fueling your yacht. Fuel in
the bilge is extremely dangerous! Make
sure there are no fumes in your yacht
before starting the engine.
• Know your fuel tank capacity and engines’
fuel consumption. Be sure you have
enough fuel to reach your destination with
adequate reserve for course changes due
to weather or other problems.
• Regularly check all safety equipment
such as fire extinguishers, life preservers,
flares, and horn. They should be in good
condition, readily visible and easily
accessed.
• Keep up-to-date navigational charts
onboard of areas to be traveled.
• Make a practice of informing someone of
your travel plans and route; leave a float
plan with someone.
• Check local weather reports before
casting off. Watch the weather! Be on the
lookout for strong winds and electrical
storms.
• DO NOT overload or improperly load your
yacht.
• Require good boat shoes be worn by all
passengers to avoid slipping.
• Passengers should be instructed how to
use all safety equipment. Each person
must have a life preserver. Children and
non-swimmers should wear life
preservers at all times.
• DO NOT allow passengers to ride on
parts of the yacht not designed for that
use.
• DO NOT operate the boat when the
windshield is not secured in the closed
position. Use all the window locks to
secure.
• DO NOT store equipment or climb on the
radar arch or optional hardtop.
• Instruct at least one passenger in the
basics of operation and handling of your
yacht in case you are disabled or fall
overboard.
• DO NOT use the swim platform or
boarding ladder while the engines are
running. Turn engines OFF when
swimmers or skiers are getting in or out of
the water.
• DO NOT use the boarding ladder without
the boarding ladder cover closed. The
boarding ladder cover must be closed
when boarding the boat or when entering
the water.
• Obey all navigational rules!
• If uncertain of water depth, proceed
slowly and with caution!
• A small loss in performance may be
experienced when a tender is placed on
the swim platform. This change in
