Basic Systems Operation
Gas V-drive and I/O fuel crossover operate in five ways:
1. If the center valve is at the CLOSED position and the port and
starboard valves are at the OPEN position, each engine receives
fuel from its respective tank. The port engine receives fuel from
the port tank and the starboard engine receives fuel from the
starboard tank.
2. If the center valve is at the OPEN position and the port and
starboard valves are at the OPEN position, fuel is shared between
both engines from each tank.
3. If the center valve and port valve are at the OPEN position and the
starboard valve is at the CLOSED position, both engines will
receive fuel from the port tank.
4. If the center valve and starboard valve are at the OPEN position
and the port valve is at the CLOSED position, both engines will
receive fuel from the starboard tank.
5. If the starboard and port valves are at the CLOSED position, fuel
flow will be stopped to both engines regardless of the center
handle's position.
Diesel V-drive and I/O fuel crossover operate in five ways:
1. If both valves point away from one another, the flow of fuel is
stopped to both engines.
2. If both valves point toward one another, each engine receives fuel
from its respective tank. The port engine receives fuel from the
port tank and the starboard engine receives fuel from the
starboard tank.
3. If the left valve points away and the right valve points up, the
starboard fuel tank supplies fuel to both engines.
4. If the right valve points away, and the left valve points up, the port
fuel tank supplies fuel to both engines.
5. If both valves point up, fuel is shared between both engines from
each tank.
All fuel system components must be checked before each boating
season and regularly during the season for any leaks or bad hose
conditions. Make sure the fuel system is leak-free.

Inspect the entire fuel system regularly. Leaking fuel
and fumes are a fire and explosion hazard that can
explode, causing injury or death.
