O
PERATING PRINCIPLE
With the battery monitor BAT-MON-3.5 you are able to monitor your complete battery system and the current flow of
d.c. energy sources such as solar panels. The battery monitor can only be operated in conjunction with the shunt
reference SHUNT-300-3.5 at low voltage DC 8-32V. Up to 3 shunts (#1, #2 and #3) can be connected to the battery
monitor. The shunts can operate in two different modes :
•
Battery mode
: Voltage, charging and discharging currents are monitored and from this the battery status is
computed. The battery is constantly monitored for full charge, critical state of charge and deep discharge.
•
Energy mode:
The current flow of energy sources such as alternators, solar cells or hydrogenerators is
measured and the energy yield counted in Ampere hour (Ah).
Shunt #1 operates into Battery mode only.
