3.1 Overview 

The Indoor SSPA has external interfaces that allow it to connect to many optional external 
devices. The interfaces located on at the rear of the unit are: 

•

 

CIF serial port RS-232 

•

 

CIF serial port RS-422/485 

•

 

Diagnostic Interface  

•

 

Discrete interface 

•

 

Ethernet interface 

3.1.1 RS-232 

Serial 

Port 

The operator can use a PC with a RS-232 adapter at distances up to 3m. Table 3-1 can be used to 
design a cable or a cable may be purchased to connect the Indoor SSPA directly to a computer. 
The CIF protocol must be set to RS-232 using the front panel setup menu. 

 

Note:  TX and RX functionality is from the standpoint of the amplifier:  TX is 
an output and RX is an input.
