6.3.5.2 Upload Software Via USB Port
Updated software is occasionally provided by CPAC Equipment, Inc.
(CEI) via email containing a downloadable file labeled “Update” to an
USB flash drive. This file is a compressed “zip” file which can be
downloaded via either MAC or Windows systems. Do not “unzip”. If
the flash drive has been used previously for updates, remove any
previous file before uploading new file. The RH-‐N95 will not recognize
differences between the old and new update files. Follow instructions
contained in the email. Once this file is uploaded into the flash drive,
insert flash drive into the RH-‐N95 USB port. The screen will display
“Flash Drive Ready”.
Press “MENU” from “READY” or “HEATER IS OFF” screen to display
“SELECT ITEM” screen. Press “SOFTWARE UPDATE.” The file will be
downloaded in seconds. Follow loading instructions by CEI provided
with the software. Press “Exit” (you may have to scroll down to the
bottom of the screen to see button) to return to the home screen.
It should be noted that the RH-‐N95 is marketed under FDA’s
authorization for emergency use during the coronavirus pandemic of
2020. This is a temporary authorization by which the FDA may revoke
the authorization once the pandemic subsides. The RH-‐N95 was
derived from the RH-‐Pro11 HVHA sterilizer which is an FDA-‐cleared
sterilizer. The RH-‐N95 can be reconfigured back to an RH-‐Pro11 with
a simple software upload that can be performed by the operator.
