SAMPLE FLOW

The BSV rotates back. The Erythrolyse II (PAK LYSE) reagent pumps send the diff lytic 
reagent to pick up and deliver the diff portion to the mixing chamber, rupturing red cell 
membranes and dissolving cell debris in the process.

The StabiLyse (PAK PRESERVE) reagent pump dispenses diff leukocyte preservative. It 
enters the mixing chamber to stabilize the leukocyte subpopulations. See Figure 3.8.

The vacuum isolators supply vacuum to the baths to pull the sample through the 
apertures for the cell counts. The unit counts and sizes RBCs and Plts at the RBC 
aperture and WBCs at the WBC aperture.

It measures hemoglobin photometrically through the WBC bath. See Figure 3.9.
